Gravel Fest Oct. 7 @ Aslin

Our Philosophy

Green Lizard Cycling is a locally owned, family business that opened March of 2013.  Our vision regarding business and bicycling is simple, treat everyone with respect, treat people as we would like to be treated, be part of the local community, and add value to everything you do. We feel we have created an environment that everyone feels welcome, whether you're stopping by for a cup of coffee, looking for a new bike, needing some sort of an accessory or service, or just wanting to stop in and say hello.

Loving your bike, Bike fitting you first

Whether you are looking for a new bike or looking to upgrade your current ride the most important component is you!  We want to make sure your needs are married to a bike, whether we sell it or not, that lets you reach your potential. The aim of the Green Lizard fitting process is to integrate all the deep professional skills and experience of our team to make you a success. No matter what price level you are buying at there is no reason to compromise on getting a ride you can love for a lifetime.

Why the name Green Lizard Cycling?

This is the most frequently asked question in the shop.

We wanted something that didn’t sound like every other bike shop, it had to be unique, easy to remember, and recognizable at a glance. We wanted a connection to the environment, something with a fun logo that both adults and kids would enjoy, and something that had meaning to our family.

We lived in Alaska for 15 year’s; my job transferred us to coastal North Carolina.  Once we were settled in our new home we noticed the abundance of Carolina Anoles around the property and coming from Alaska the kids hadn’t see many reptiles.  Sitting outside watching the Anoles go about their business was something our family spent many hours enjoying.

Cycling is an activity in which most everyone can participate. It’s good for our health and it’s good for the environment. The next step is to come up with a logo so I sat down with a graphic designer.  We tossed around a number of ideas and decided on the Komodo Dragon, the largest strongest lizard on earth.  So now you know how our name and logo were born.  Hope to see you in the shop soon, the Lizard Family.
